Case Study One
The Challenge
Following initial meetings with the architect we recommended using our Kingspan access flooring as well as Armstrong ceilings for the new build project to create a very modern Broadcasting House for the end client, Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation or GBC as it is known. We then followed up with the CEO of GBC Gerard Teuma as we needed to pull together their plans for how they wanted this building to differ from the original broadcasting house. Their brief was simple, they wanted a look and feel that was vibrant, welcoming and very professional. It had to have design elements of Sky TV and the BBC however their budgets were much more restrictive. Break out areas had to be created and areas where staff could hold informal team meetings a various levels throughout the building. In addition as there were a great number of desks to be incorporated they needed a system that was highly cable managed, little or no units to be on the ground for ease of cleaning and storage, plenty of storage throughout the building. Our brief was clearly set up and with the help from our design teams at Boss and Bisley we set about creating a look and feel that matched the new corporate look at GBC.
The Results
The project overall was not only a success for us and our team in the UK but also extremely well received by all the team at GBC. The experience itself created a completely new feel and brought a whole new fresh look to the whole operation which we are sure will create a positive and more productive environment for all their staff and guests alike. The reviews we had from their employees was positive and the review from their Managing Director, Gerard Teuma (on our ‘Customers love how we work’ page) made us appreciate we had created the right look and feel that proved beneficialy to everyone who worked and visited Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation.
Case Study Two
The Challenge
We were contracted to do a complete fit out for the MidTown office block at the start of 2017 comprising of 7266m2 of bare floor space. Our brief was to complete the fitout excluding any M&E works. Our role was to supply and install all the raised access flooring, glazed and solid acoustic partitioning, sound proof insulation, vinyl and carpet tiling, suspended and plaster ceilings of various types, wc cubicles, riser fire doors, access panels, the industrial kitchen, kitchenettes, as well as all the painting and some other sundry items. The main obstacle we faced was that the project needed to be surveyed, ordered and installed within a year. We felt up to the task so we accepted and then the hard work began.
The Solution
Itek needed to pool their resources and experience to produce the best team. Using their experience and expertise they grouped together a team of highly experienced professionals to consolidate a fit out package of the highest level. Their resourcefulness was pushed to the limits all the way. The project was and shall be a benchmark for others to follow.
The Results
Itek are proud that their resourcefulness, craftsmanship, determination and professionalism is showcased in one of the largest and most elite office development projects in Gibraltar, now home to the largest International Law firm in Gibraltar amongst other high profile businesses.
